Cabrera is out performing Fielder and Ortiz, and Stubbs is a nice addition as well. However Guitars and Cadilacs needs pitching, so I will say yes.

Until Ortiz and Fielder live up to their potential, I'm gonna say nay on this one. Miggy is a top 5 hitter, you can't get him for a middle of the pack pitcher and two under-performing hitters, one of which is significantly past his prime.

No. Myers has no sense of longevity to him at all while hes in Houston. Wont get wins, wont have good defense, look again in a month and he'll be
this guy. If you take this trade back a year to 2009, it looks pretty fair but lets not live in the past here...
Fielder (26 yrs old) is good,
Oritz (35) has had a good May but wont continue to have the same success,
Myers (30) is getting lucky and will soon burn out,
Miguel is excellent,
Stubbs is good.
Both of G&C's players have "staying power". Meaning they will completely or nearly keep up the pace that theyre both at right now. Ortiz will run out of gas before this year is over, Myers is in the same boat.

The value of Miggy and Stubbs together with respect to Aarons team is this:
FielderMcGeheeHappDo that and ill vote yay.
Aaron - June 12, 2010 05:56 AM (GMT)
That would undercut Fielder's potential and you know it. He's not hitting this year but he's more than capable of it. I don't need stubbs either. I could look at a potential 2 for 1 or 3 for 1.
Miracle Mets - June 12, 2010 03:13 PM (GMT)
If Fielder ever turns it around and if Ortiz doesn't flame out, then I'll say yes. But until that happens, this is a one-sided trade.
Aaron - June 12, 2010 03:46 PM (GMT)
and btw there was no need to put up trade polls as I did. That was done because it wouldn't be right for me to decide the fairness of my own deals and accept them. Mine go directly to a vote in this case, but others would normally wait for a veto before going to a vote...

Ive got 4 yays and 3 nays, not sure what to do here...

Was one of the yays yourself? Because if so then really it's a tie.

Can I vote, even though I'm not in the league? :P
Aaron - June 13, 2010 05:41 PM (GMT)
My vote still counts if I'm in the league and technically someone voted no without posting it.

Why not, a third party is always good.

While I could just accept this deal because it wasn't voted down I won't do that.
The original deal was Cabrera and Stubbs for Fielder, Ortiz and Myers. I'm dropping Stubbs from the deal and focusing on filling the remaining pitching spots on the other roster.
So as it stands I'll be sending Fielder, Myers, Happ and Lindstrom for Cabrera.
-Fielder isn't hitting anywhere near Cabrera but is finding his power streak recently and has all the potential to turn his season around. He will slot into the 1B slot vacated by Cabrera.
-Myers will slip right into a P slot for G&C and serve as a much needed starter who has had a very servicable season to date.
-Happ projects to come off the DL and return to the starting rotation by the end of June and would then slip into G&Cs P slot as well.
-Lindstrom has 4 more saves this season than G&C's only current Closer and would give the team two quality RPs with Saves.
So in all G&C receives an upgrade in the RP slot with Lindstrom, recieves a P active now and another who will be active soon, and will recieve Prince Fielder who is indeed slumping, but could easily hit out of it in the 2nd half.
3 current starters and one on the DL for Cabrera.
G&C needs to have it's roster filled so I am going to accept this trade and move on with it after reading your input and trying to construct a deal that fits both teams needs.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS DECISION YOU ARE WELCOME TO AND EVEN ENCOURAGED TO DISPUTE IT. TELL ME HERE AND WILL PUT A VETO POLL UP.
I just feel like this team needs to have it's roster figured out before another matchup rolls by and another voting period would extend into next week. So please do not feel as if this is locked in, it will be vetoed if indeed you see it as lopsided, but I feel like I've created a deal that can be viewed as acceptable based on that teams needs.
Luv Aaron
